Portland, Maine-based CashStar has named Ben Kaplan president and CEO of the digital gifting company. Just over a month ago, Kaplan was hired by CashStar to fill the office of COO and serve on the CashStar’s board of directors, a position he will sustain as CEO.
CashStar is an eGifting program for web and mobile that is used by brands such as BestBuy, Dunkin Donuts, and Home Depot. Retailers reward users for the transactions that are completed through CashStar, which can be used in future transaction, increasing brand interaction and sales. Through this continued interaction and built-in social media components, retailers can build a marketing campaign around customers’ experience with CashStar.
